The Miracle herb Butea Superba

This is the highest quality Butea Superba in the world.  This cultivar was developed by a leading Thai scientist. The most robust plants were isolated from many different remote parts of Thailand.  Many testing protocols were used to select the most robust plants with superior genetics. Like Pueraria Mirifica the actives build up very slowly over years.  Our harvest cycle approaches 1 decade.  Studies indicate that Butea Superba contains novel flavonoid and flavonoid glycosides that act as potent phosphodiesterase inhibitors stimulating nitric oxide release most prominently in the genital region acting like an "herbal viagra."

Of course the farmed cultivar has a higher cost to produce than wild butea superba varieties.  Unfortunately we can not currently measure the actives.   It is important to understand that academically the phosphodiesterase activity has been measured.  Lack of assay availability allows companies to self define their wild butea superba products as premium.  Providing affordable solutions to consumers is always desirable.  Certainly  accurately defining what you are selling is always appropriate.  We have noticed terms like “Pure, Full Spectrum” etc. that do not state anything tangible about the quality of the product.  It is highly likely that low cost Butea Superba and Pueraria Mirifica are primarily wild varieties.  Many wild varieties have questionable worth because of questionable actives.  Wild varieties generally are harvested in very remote locations necessitating long distance travel and delay.  Some companies even state that wild herbs are organically grown with no pesticides. Many wild varieties utilize crude sun drying techniques which can compromise actives.  We give you our assurances that we use modern technology with controlled temperatures immediately after harvest with no delay and no chemicals to ensure the very highest actives.  This is very critical.

Research indicates agents that stimulate nitric oxide release extend life. Butea Superba may indeed support cardiac health. It is used in Thai medicine as a tonic for older men.  Animal studies demonstrate increases in LH and FSH (increased sperm production).  There is a potent androgen that exists in the plant.  The profound increases in LH in animal studies lends itself to this premise.  Plating studies demonstrate (ACHE) acetylcholinesterase inhibition supporting memory in older men. Animal studies also demonstrate increased sperm motility. Thai scientists speculate increased ATP production in the sperm cell is responsible.  In a joint effort between Thai scientist and scientists in the Netherlands the following anti-oxidant fractions have been identified in Butea Superba: procyanidin B2, (-)-epicatechin and procyanidin B5.  Butea Superba also contains the sterol compounds beta-sitosterol, campesterol and stigmasterol. Thai scientists have also acknowledged potent anti-estrogenic effects.  In a recent study done with male human volunteers in Thailand using GC/MASS SPEC on urine samples with short term administration of Butea Superba researchers found increases of androstendione, testosterone, estradiol and estriol.  Mild increases of luteinizing hormone were observed.  In animal studies female animals fed Butea Superba acquired masculine characteristics. Conclusion:  Butea Superba can have masculinizing effects on animals

The Miracle Herb Pueraria Mirifica

Abel Herb Products is the very highest quality pueraria mirifica in the world. Substantially better than wild varieties and extracts made from wild varieties. Pueraria Mirifica grows primarily in Thailand but currently much of the low cost wild Pueraria Mirifica is coming out of the jungles of Loas and Myanmar. These are primitive and remote settings not aligned with an emphasis in standards we all are accustomed.

It is known as the most estrogenic plant on earth. The people in northern Thailand have been eating it for hundreds of years for its rejuvenating properties. The last 15 years pueraria mirifica has been developed commercially in Thailand.  A leading Thai Scientist has studied this plant for close to 20 years.  He brought many specimens back to the laboratory from the most rural parts of Thailand to evaluate. This research effort led to a premium farmed cultivar.  From this research we know the actives build up very, very slowly in the plant. The harvest cycle for the material in our product approaches 1 decade!

Many people don't understand what separates one herbal material from another.  All Pueraria Mirifica is indeed not created equal.  The whole idea is to obtain the highest levels of Deoxymiroestrol and Miroestrol and other secondary and tertiary actives.  What is Miroestrol?  Miroestrol is one of the principal phytoestrogens that is considered an active ingredient in Pueraria Mirifica.  Miroestrol is roughly equal to 17 beta estradiol and approximately 500 times more potent than bio-identical hormones!   Deoxymiroestrol is as much as 10 times more potent than 17 beta estradiol and as much as10 times more potent than miroestrol.  In high quality Pueraria Mirifica  deoxymiroestrol is dominant in activity and can dominate the chromene mix.  Wild Pueraria Mirifica may have little or no deoxymiroestrol or miroestrol!   The great challenges for wilders is gathering wild pueraria mirifica from remote locations, crude processing techniques, gathering the wrong species and /or travel time to a factory.  This translates into compromised actives.  Why not standardized extracts made from wild plants?  Although some have claimed to standardize miroestrol, it is unlikely that this is the case.  It is unlikely they even have the ability to actually measure the chromene actives!  The main problem is that the large commercial companies do not have any mirioestrol.  It took a Nobel prize winning chemist to synthesize it and it is very difficult to isolate.  There are only two academic groups in the whole world that have miroestrol!    LCMS is an excellent methodology and can be very accurate. This type of testing is quite complex and needs to be validated.  To validate you need mirioestrol, pueraria mirifica needs to be tested on HPLC method.  This is the big problem, no miroestrol, no validation. To actually do a credible job standardizing pueraria mirifica a lot more science  needs to be done. It would be equally important to standardize the spinosterols, deoxymiroestrol, kwakhurin and the other 15 or 20 secondary actives in the plant. To this date no one in the world can do that. The problem with using "a best guess" (LCMS) method for one key active you really do not know what you have ended up with.  Safety is key.  A farmed standard, uniform superior genetics, nutrient enrichment , length of harvest cycle is critical for consistent  high quality Pueraria Mirifica.  In addition there are other species (ex.Pueraria candollei ) that look identical to pueraria mirifica. This plant contains no chromenes.   Many times wilders mix this species with pueraria mirifica.  With wild pueraria mirifica you really never know what you get: species, genetics, age of plant etc.....quality

Pueraria Mirifica Benefits

Pueraria mirifica has been used in Thailand for medicinal purposes for many years, mainly as a female hormone supplement. Pueraria mirifica is a plant found in the wild in Myanmar and Northeastern Thailand. It is also known as kwao krua. The term pueraria mirifica was coined in 1952. Today, the extract from this plant is used to make supplements.

Pueraria Mirifica Health Benefits
There have been studies done to suggest that pueraria mirifica can benefit a number of health conditions:

Menopause
This condition causes a variety of unpleasant symptoms, including hot flashes and night sweats. There was a study done in Thailand where a group of women were given a pueraria mirifica supplement for one month. At the end of the study, the subjects noticed a significant decrease in night sweats and hot flashes. In fact, many of the women started to notice an improvement within one week. Pueraria mirifica contains a compound called miroestrol. Researchers believe that this is the active constituent for alleviating menopausal symptoms.

Low Libido
Pueraria mirifica has been shown to increase sex drive. It can also increase vaginal moisture.

Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is another condition that is extremely common in post-menopausal women. This condition causes the bones to become weak and brittle, which makes them more prone to breaking. Pueraria mirifica has been shown to improve skeletal health, which can reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Researchers believe that the phytoestrogens in pueraria mirifica are helping fight osteoporosis. Taking Pueraria with calcium, as is recommended to aid absorption, would further help combat osteoporosis.

Aging
Pueraria mirifica is a great choice for people who want to naturally fight aging. This supplement contains flavonoids and miroestrol compounds, which have all been shown to be effective for fighting aging. A reduction in gray hair and cellulite, increased energy, improved memory and improve circulation are some of the benefits that people have reported after taking pueraria mirifica.

Breast Enhancement
Women who are looking for an alternative to breast augmentation often turn to pueraria mirifica. One study has suggested that 70 percent of women who use pueraria mirifica notice an increase in their breast size. Not only does it increase breast size, but it can also reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

Improve Skin
Pueraria mirifica helps hydrate the skin and boost collagen production. This gives you a healthier, more youthful-looking complexion. It also helps protect against wrinkles. There was a study published in the Journal of Fertility and Sterility in 2005. One group of women was asked to take an estrogen supplement while the other group was given a placebo. The results of the study showed that the women who took the estrogen supplement had fewer wrinkles than the group who took the placebo. As discussed, researchers believe that human estrogen and phytoestrogens have similar effects on the body.

Weight Loss
Pueraria mirifica can be effective for reducing appetite, which can help you reach your goal weight.

How To Take Pueraria Mirifica?
Pueraria is widely available in the form of a capsule, liquid or powder. It can also be applied topically. For the best results, you should take this supplement along with a food or beverage that is high in calcium, such as milk, cheese, sesame seeds or almonds, as it seems calcuim helps increase the absorption of phytoestrogens, which are the main active ingredients in Pueraria and many other herbs. See also our Phytoestrogen category.

Notes & Cautions when taking Peuraria Mirifica
Even though pueraria mirifica is safe and natural, there are some groups of people who should not take it. Pregnant women and people who have cancer should not take this supplement. As pueraria contains phytoestrogens, it may affect periods such as delaying menstruation by making the menstrual cycle longer. This is thought to be beneficial in reducing the overall risk of hormone related cancers, but it is still worth bearing in mind as a potential side effect that you may not be expecting.

Pueraria mirifica (Kwao Krua Kao) Overview of Benefits

Pueraria mirifica (Kwao Krua Kao) Overview of Benefits

Super phytoestrogen Pueraria mirifica is a unique herbal hormone supplement. The ground root bulb herbal powder is unprecedented in terms of women's health, menopausal symptoms, longevity from its rich content in Mirosterol that activates the bodies natural female hormone receptors. It's also an excellent topical skin care & beauty treatment for removing wrinkles, breast enlargement, breast firming & enhancement, and rejuvenating sagging skin. Pure Pueraria raw paste extract is the most potent natural form.

Pueraria Mirifica contains a valuable phytoestrogen named miroestrol. Miroestrol is similar to the safest human estrogen estriol. Miroestrol is 3000 times stronger than the estrogenic activity exhibited by soy isoflavones(genistein) and 1000 times that of red clover. In addition to miroestrol, Pueraria Mirifica contains substantial amounts of other phytoestrogens including daidzein, genistein, puerarin, and mirificin.

When miroestrol enters an estrogen receptor it modulates the effect on the receptor. Pueraria Mirifica supplements when the estrogenic activity is low and dilutes if the receptor estrogenic activity is high. Miroestrol has no effect on estrogen levels in the body as it only influences the estrogen receptor.

Instructions for Kwao Krua Kao
The simple method to ingest Kwao Krua Kao (pueraria mirifica) is strained brewed in a cup of herbal tea morning and evening. The normal recommended dose according to researchers is 50-100 mg per day of pure extract, 200mg per day for the first month will help boost and normalize depleted hormone levels. Traditional Thai usage has menstruating women skip the therapy during menses.

For a topical application dissolve Kwao Krua Kao in mineral water to make a paste, or blend in carrier oil (we recommend organic cold pressed macadamia or brown rice bran oil) and massage into the desired areas of the skin; face, hands, neck, breasts, buttocks, etc. for optimum hormonal replenishment and skin rejuvenation.

Toxicity Study
According to a study conducted at the School of Medicine, Saint Mariane University, Tokyo, Japan by Kuramoshi, T. and Smitasiri, Y. about the preliminary study of Pueraria mirifica in Japanese females, 50 healthy menstruating volunteer females, ages 20 to 49, were given between 100 to 600 mg orally of Pueraria mirifica root powder daily as capsules for 7 days, two weeks after menstruation. No reports of abnormally heavy, severe, or missed menstruation were recorded.
